Groups of 2 or Solo
Instructions / Requirements
For this assignment, you will create a listicle. For example: Top 4 Tips for Job Interviews or Top 6 Outfits that Dress to Impress. The platform this will be posted on is LinkedIn, so be sure to be professional and polished in your writing. This can be written in your own voice as it will be posted from your LinkedIn account. If you do not have a LinkedIn account, now would be a good time to create one.
Your listicle article should be between 250 – 300 words. No more, no less. Your list points should be between 3 and 6. For example, Top 4 Tips for Job Interviews. Then you would list out those 4 tips in your article and explain them. You can look at Buzzfeed for inspiration on listicles. At the bottom of your listicle page, be sure to include some sort of disclaimer that this is for a class assignment for our client Texas State Career Services.
A good place to find resources for your listicle would be the Texas State Career Services website. If you use information from external sources, make sure it does not contradict the content from the Texas State Career Services website.
If you need additional data for this assignment that you can’t find online, contact Tori Graham in Career Services. She will be our client contact for additional information.
Submission
Once you’ve written your listicle. You will publish it on your LinkedIn. At the top/middle of LinkedIn, you should see ‘Write an Article’ underneath the post area. This is where you will publish your listicle. On the next page, you should see the Share screen. Make sure your audience is ‘Anyone’ otherwise I will not be able to grade it. You will then see a page that says Congratulations on your article. Near the bottom of this, you’ll see a link that says ‘Get the link to this article’
Once you’ve copied that link to the article, paste it into Slack under the Social Assignments channel. In your Slack post, also be sure to include the title in the submission. It should look something like this:
“Title for Listicle Here”
